I am arriving on June 18th and will be staying in Anchorage with relatives. I will probably need a ride on Sun. to the camp. I will also be staying until July 2nd.
Hi everyone! I just bought 100 postcard stamps, so I better REALLY be going!
I also reserved a spot on a glacier cruise to the Prince William Sound for the Sunday AFTER camp, 6/29. Doing it before 6/13 gave me a 20% discount and free food. I chose this cruise since it's goal was heavy glaciers/medium animal life. The cruise to Kenai Fjords was a lot further and more animals with little glaciers. This is through "Major Marine Tours" and includes round trip train transportation from Anchorage. The diiscounted price was $165.01, including tax, etc. I'd love company, so think about it folks!
Also, Katie and Paula...PLEASE...YES...let's rent a car togehter. Katie, since you and I will be there first, why don't we start the rental so we can get to Wasilla for 3:00 Sunday?
Also, am I the ONLY one staying at the Grand View instead of the kennel? Really? Hmmm...

The train from Anchorage leaves early in the morning to go to Wasilla. Is anyone willing to ride share or split shuttle costs on the 22nd to arrive closer to our camp start time of 3 p.m.?

I get in on Sat night at 520. I am picking up my car as soon as I get my bags. I am renting it until I head back to the Airport at 9pm on July 1st (Tuesday). The cost came out approx. at $980.66. It is a dodge caliber and looks like it can fit adults comfortably. I plan on staying in Anchorage on Sat night and then driving up after the market to Wasilla. I am also going to go to Church that morning. I have things planned as well for after the trip. I am usually a pretty independent person so if you don't want to be stuck with me maybe we could figure out what is going on on days/nights we are free and figure out how to split it up for that adventure...It looks like it costs about $89 a day not including gas...I need to check on the gas situation.

Where are you staying Saturday night? I am staying in Anchorage and was hoping to share a car starting Sunday and ending the next Sunday. I'm sure we can work it out somehow...per diem perhaps or something like that!
If you will no longer be around for the ride to Wasilla on Sunday in time for camp, then Dawn, I'll share the shuttle with you! Or...if Katie is still in Anchorage, join us for the car share for the one day.
What about others who want to share a car? Who else is staying at the Grand View?

I was playing around with my AARP discount and it looks like they do give some $$ off the rates from most car rental places. katie, did you use any discount code for your rate? If so, and that's the best, then I'm in for Saturday through the next Saturday, in some fashion! I'm staying at the Grand View in Wasilla and not at the kennel. Where have you decided to stay?
